Announcement #9 July 21, 1964.

Ikeya discovered another comet, of eighth magnitude, on the morning
of July 3. Comet Ikeya 1964 is still in the morning sky, and it will grad-
willy become brighter until it moves Into the evening sky during the first
week of August. Dennis Milon sent the following ephemeris computed by
Michael McCants. They warn that it may not be accurate because of the short
time span of observations. However, an observation by Karl McNamara of the
Montreal Centre, on July 20, indicates that the cornet is within two degrees
of the predicted position. He estimated the magnitude 0.7 fainter than
predicted.
The undersigned has calculated the approximate local mean times for
rising and setting of the cornet tat latitudes 44° and 54° North. To convert
to Standard Time, see page 12 of the "Observer's Handbook".
