Schools & Youth Groups

Astronomy is a great subject for students and youth groups to explore. Little to no equipment is necessary, and there are lots of resources available on this website and all over the internet. Few people ever forget the first time they saw Saturn or the moon through a scope.

There are many astronomy clubs in Canada. Many clubs run public viewing sessions or have people who can visit groups. Also, young people are welcome to go to meetings or observing sessions.

Are you looking for a science fair topic? There are many experiments you can perform in astronomy. Some professional astronomers started their passion by doing an astronomy project. See this site for details.

Magazines are an excellent source of information.

Most astronomical photos taken by NASA are offered for free to students and teachers for almost any purpose.
