LP Impact Summary

The effects of lighting up the outdoors at night (light pollution) are felt both locally and globally and affect us physically, mentally and culturally. Irresponsible outdoor lighting disrupts the natural environment, wastes energy, degrades urban living and deprives us of our natural right to enjoy the night sky.

Is darkness so bad? It depends on your point view. Listen to Chris, he should know.

Awareness of this problem is now entering the "main stream". Here is a June 2014 "Nature of Things" program that is a good summary of the problem.

We Need Responsible Lighting for:

Our ability to wonder at the stars has led to amazing progress in understanding our world, our universe, our existence. Why discard this limitless natural resource?

Efficiency, Economy, Environment
