Developing an appropriate set of By-Laws is important for all non-profit organizations to help guide activities as well as to ensure good governance and compliance with government regulations and requirements. This page provides the following resources to assist RASC Centres in the development and maintenance of their governing documents. Under the Society's Constitution (see By-Laws), the By-Laws of RASC Centres may not be inconsistent with the National By-Laws. If there is an inconsistency, the national By-Laws prevail.

Sample Centre By-Laws

Prepared by the Society's Constitution Committee, the Sample Centre By-Laws provide a template that is helpful for Centres that are either developing or revising their own By-Laws. The Sample Centre By-Laws are intended to be consistent with the Society's overall By-Laws. Centres are asked to advise the Constitution Committee early in the process to ensure that new By-Laws are adopted in the appropriate manner. Note: the current Sample Centre By-Laws are inconsistent with recent changes made to the national By-Law #1 - consult the Constitution Committee before using these.
