John Richard "Rick" Saunders (b.1956) attended York University for one year and is retired from a career as a Research Communicator for the Canadian military and an Air Traffic Specialist for NavCanada. Applying his considerable skills in electronics and optics, he and a buddy run TOGA. That's "Two Old Guys Astrogear." They make astronomy accessories.

Rick began a term as President of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, London Centre in 2012, served on the host committee for the 2016 General Assembly, and won the Society's Service Award in 2019.
