Asteroid (7355) Bottke

Named in honor of William F. Bottke, Jr., known for his research on the collisional and dynamical evolution of minor planets. He has also contributed to the study of the origin and evolution of NEAs, in particular by analyzing the formation of doublet craters found on the terrestrial planets.

Dr. Bottke was elected an honorary member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada on 2012-06-29.
