Candidate 1 - Andrew Blanchard, Hamilton Centre

Andrew Blanchard, Hamilton CentreI was the treasurer of Hamilton Centre for 5 years, and currently I am President of Hamilton Centre (two years), the chairman and creator of AstroCATS, a board member of Hamilton Centre for 12 years, chairman of the annual Hamilton Centre Banquet, and creator and chairman of the Henry's and Scouting outreach programs.

I am a retired financial planner. I had managed a financial planning firm employing a workforce of highly independent professionals. I recently sold my business practice that catered to hundreds of wealthy business owners.

My education consists of an MBA, and while working I held all the major designations in my field, although I do not consider myself an academic. I have sat on many boards over my career and held many different positions. Over the last 20 years I have been a trusted executive and board member of many organizations.

I did enjoy the detail side of my business; having achieved my best work at the 30,000 foot level. I believe this attribute will be a great asset in serving on this committee. I also like looking at a process or system and seeing past the issues. I am often described by my peers as an out of box thinker. Yes I am a type “A” personality with a history of success and a track record to match it.

My specific goal if I am voted in as a RASC Transition Committee member is to further the goals of the RASC and its Centres.
