LeTerrain Dark Sky Preserve was designated a Dark-Sky Preserve in 2025, and is a privately-owned four-season outdoor centre committed to facilitating the Quebec wilderness experience while protecting the beauty and heritage of the region.
Location:
LeTerrain — 528 chemin Fierobin, La Pêche, QC
430-acre site, Municipality of La Pêche, Quebec
Located to the northwest of Gatineau, just outside the Gatineau Hills, LeTerrain is one of the darkest areas easily accessible to the National Capital Region. Access to the site is controlled through membership.
LeTerrain’s designation aligns with RASC’s vision for reducing light pollution, protecting habitat and ecosystems, and promoting the natural beauty of the night sky for observation.
The surrounding community, alongside the Earth and Sky Foundation, supports light pollution abatement in La Pêche, ensuring long-term stewardship of this rare dark-sky region.
