Greg Lisk (b. 1963) has served as president of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Belleville Centre, where he organized field trips, designed award programs, judged local science fair entries, prepared displays, arranged star parties and gave presentations at outreach events, both indoor and outdoor. He won the RASC Service Award in 2014.

Brian Pihack (b.1956) is a chiropractor and amateur astronomer who has served as President of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Niagara Centre. He has given hundreds of introductory astronomy lectures and classes to children, students and adults throughout the Niagara Falls and St. Catharines region of southern Ontario.

Asteroid (10073) Peterhiscocks

Peter Hiscocks (1945-2018) was Professor of Electrical Engineering at Ryerson University in Toronto and an expert on illumination engineering. He was an amateur astronomer recognized for his advocacy of light pollution abatement, and was chair of the Light Pollution Abatement Committee of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Toronto Centre.

Roger Hill (b. 1955) has been a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Hamilton Centre, for decades and served on the Board for most of that time, including as President. The Sky This Month - November 2021

Here Comes The Lunar Eclipse

Nothing is more magical than viewing a lunar eclipse. A few times each year, the full moon steps into the earth’s shadow for a few hours, leaving us with lasting memories. Such an eclipse will take place on the night of Nov 18/19 with the Full Beaver Moon. This one will be extra special and appear very close to a total eclipse. Because of the geometry, the moon will be in the larger shadow of the earth except for a mere three percent, leaving the edge in sunlight. A lunar eclipse is very safe to enjoy.
