Calling all aliens, goblins & costumed characters...whether you're young or young-at-heart, join us to celebrate a Space-themed Halloween by Zoom with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) Montreal Centre and the John Abbott College (JAC) Space Club. Fun-filled activities with multi-media, a Kahoot! quiz, story-telling and crafts using mini-marshmallows and toothpicks (or raw spaghetti) will inspire kids of all ages, and space-themed costumes can be displayed on Zoom!

This session will introduce the surviving images recording views of Mars by Society members at past oppositions. The material circumstances of the images (astronomical media and instruments used), and the non-observational factors possibly influencing what was seen at the eyepiece will be discussed. What can a considered perspective on past visions of the red planet teach us about our own observations at this opposition?
