  7. condition: complete, and with its original case. Optics excellent, and eyepiece retains its reticle;
  8. notes: REL was a war-time crown corporation. Machines for producing the REL sighting scope were purchased from Bausch & Lomb in Rochester, NY, and expertise in the form of personnel and training was obtained from the same firm. The optical glass was from a melt produced in Leaside. These 1x sighting telescopes are said to have been fitted to 2 pounder, 6 pounder, and Bofors anti-aircraft guns. When Rudolph Dorner was young he obtained one of these instruments, and subjected it to independent educational disassembly, and experiment;
