The Lafayette String Quartet is an all-female ensemble still comprised of the original members after 35 years. Artists in residence at the University of Victoria in Canada, they have mentored countless students to musical excellence, while championing contemporary music in concerts worldwide alongside mastery of the most demanding classical repertoire.

Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site is an area of natural beauty and historical significance in Nova Scotia, Canada. The indigenous Mi'kmaq people consider Kejimkujik to be a sacred ancestral place. The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada declared Kejimkujik to be a Dark Sky Preserve in 2010.

Gerald Henry Moriarty Schieven (b. 1958) is a Canadian astronomer who obtained his PhD at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Gerald was President of the RASC London Centre in 1980. He has worked at JPL, the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope and the Herzberg Millimetre Astronomy Group.
