  4. materials of manufacture: 6-inch O.G. f/10 achromatic Jaegers doublet, with 3-inch f/5(?) Jaegers guide scope, one Jaegers’ finder scope, and one anonymous finder scope (copper-alloy, probably early 20th century), thirteen (13) eyepieces, filters in leather filter case, two Barlow lenses, equatorial mount and RA drive, pier, & plywood box for the aluminum tubes;
  5. maker: two (2) O.G.s & three (3) eyepieces by A. Jaegers Optics, Lynbrook NY, and filters, two Barlows, and ten eyepieces by Vernonscope, Candor NY, mount from Jaegers parts, motor by Bristol, and aluminum tubes, dew cap, and pier by Antonio Batek in South America (Peru?), all later imported into Canada for use here;
  6. provenance: gift of the maker, Antonio Batek, Richmond Hill ON;
  7. condition: principal optics pristine, accessory optics good to excellent, mechanicals complete, and good, with some rust on some of the exposed parts, such as the un-blackened upper portion of the pier which fits into the mount
  8. notes: Antonio Batek would take the whole kit, including the massive pier and base in his car up into the mountains in South America, at ca. 3,000-metres to observe (private communication from donor 2019 July 24);
