The Beginning of the Long Dash
This is the typescript of Malcolm M. Thomson's important The Beginning of the Long Dash: A History of Timekeeping in Canada (1978). Thomson's monograph is the standard account of its subject. The version here is fuller than that published by the University of Toronto Press in 1978. (520 pages)
Canadian Eclipse Party 1869
An account of an expedition to observe the total solar eclipse at Jefferson City, Iowa, USA. (42 pages)
Cole of Spyglass Mountain
Read the story of a young boy's adventures as he grows up and pursues a serious interest in astronomy. (327 pages)
Handbook of Astrophotography
This classic work (1974, updated in 1981 and '85) was compiled for use as reference material in a course in Astrophotography. (150 pages)
