Below you will find the requirements for the Space Badge. Your local RASC centre will be able to help with many of these activities. Specific topics that the RASC can help with through Observing Nights and Star Parties are in bold. Contact your local centre to learn more.
The RASC provides training to its members on the safe usage of laser pointers for astronomical outreach. For details on the program and certification process, check out our Program Guide. Note that to access some items linked in the Program Guide, you must be certified as a Centre Trainer or National Instructor. More information about our Laser Pointer Certification Program is included below.
Canada's research astronomers operate a number of observatories across the county that are exploring the universe in visible and radio wavelengths. Many of these facilities have programs for public tours and outreach. Find out more!
Meteorites are pristine pieces of our solar system, most over 4.5 billion years old, that are delivered to our doorsteps by gravity. Important science and research is conducted by studying meteorites in detail. The Tagish Lake meteor is one of the most important discoveries in Canada in recent years.
