Dr. Guan will walk through how mapping the sky in millimeter has significantly advanced our knowledge of the universe, ranging from its early history and fundamental building blocks, to the magnetic field morphology of our galaxy.

Dr. Guan got his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh, having specialized in millimeter astronomy. He works at the Atacama Cosmology Telescope to make the most precise millimeter-wavelength map of our sky and to extract both cosmology and astrophysics data from this map. He joined the Dunlap Institute at UofT as a postdoc in 2021 to help build the next generation Simons Observatory.
