If you are planning a public outreach or other Society activity at a public facility that requires Public Liability Insurance please review this information carefully.
The RASC General Liability insurance covers events described as “normal RASC activities.” This covers members at events sponsored by a Centre or the Society, including publically advertised events. Centres holding events in public parks, malls, etc., and are required to provide proof of insurance coverage, should file a Certificate of Insurance Request (see link below) with all the following information for each event:
- Centre
- RASC Contact
- Event Name, Date and Hours, Location, and Operations
- Estimated Attendance
- Event Owner Name, Mailing Address, and Additional Insured question
- Minimum Limit of Liability Requested
If your contact has provided you with a specific list of insurance requirements then please attach this to your insurance request.
This information has to be sent to the Insurance Broker directly.
Once the request is received, the Broker or the Insurance Company may contact you (the person requesting the insurance for the event) to clarify any questions or details. The Broker will send a copy of the certificate issued to the Centre. A Sample Certificate of Insurance is available here. If your event is in a mall or a park, etc., the general certificate of insurance is generally NOT enough information for the event organizers.
Be sure to read each of the documents below.
